Education & Training
Eddie Adams Workshop
The Eddie Adams Workshop is the only tuition-free photojournalism seminar of its kind. Applicants at the start of their career submit portfolios for consideration. One hundred participants selected solely on the merit of their pictures team up with top professional photographers and editors for a four-day gathering that includes assignments, portfolio reviews, panel discussions and presentations. The Workshop began in 1988 with the goal to redress the exclusivity of professional opportunities by accepting students based on their demonstrated skills, and not on their ability to pay tuition. The all-volunteer faculty and staff, many of whom are alumni, are passionate about the mission and donate their time and expertise. The Workshop, with chief support from Nikon, has an unparalleled history of nurturing talent, exchanging ideas and building relationships.

Nikon-NOOR Academy
The NOOR Foundation is concerned with the encouragement and support of young photojournalists and documentary photographers around the world and particularly in areas where access to photography education is scarce. We facilitate educational initiatives – workshops, masterclasses, seminars, lectures, mentorship, school visits and other educational activities – in close collaboration with educational institutions, sponsor partners and NOOR’s professional photographers, all experienced teachers and lecturers. Through our ongoing partnership with Nikon we have offered Masterclasses around the world since 2009. To realize our projects we seek the collaboration of NGOs and foundations, and the financial support of grants, subsidies and sponsor partnerships.
Since 2009 NOOR and Nikon have partnered on education programs encouraging and supporting young photographic talent around the world. We have built strong collaborations with an international network of young photographers, photography professionals, cultural organizations, journalism and educational institutions. NOOR-Nikon educational programs have successfully trained more than 350 students from more than 80 different countries and counting.
