The Digital Photography Bootcamp is a summer photography camp for high school kids. Originally conceived as a recruiting idea, the camp teaches students the fundamentals of photography.

Sharpen your camera skills in this Digital Photography Adobe Photoshop summer boot camp and explore the multi-step process of using a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera. Whether you’re new to photography or looking to further develop your artistic view, the School of Media and Journalism is the perfect environment to learn digital photography in all its aspects. Students will be able to work at their own pace, while the fundamentals of digital photography and its post-production workflow and techniques. This 5-Day course will provide the time necessary to create new work and or refresh already acquired skills. In this workshop you will:
- Gain an understanding of the principles of photography, while learning the fundamental skills necessary to compose engaging images.
- Learn how to optimize exposure through aperture and shutter adjustments
- Learn the basics of studio lighting
- Gain an understanding of workflow and digital asset management
- Learn and experiment with digital image

In June, the Beginning Photography Bootcamp was offered and this camp will be an extension of that camp. This camp will build upon that content and continue with new tools, strategies, and procedures. You can continue to sharpen your camera skills in this Digital Photography Adobe Photoshop summer boot camp and explore the multi-step process of using a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera. If you are new to photography and did not complete the first camp in June we can still work with you as you discover more about digital photography. The camp is individualized to a degree because of each person’s interests and abilities.
